CARRIERE SELECTED AS WEEK 5 DEFENCE OF THE WEEK

The Eastman Selects are proud to announce that third year defender Chloe Carriere ('26) has been selected as the MFHL Week 5 Defence of the Week. Carriere collected back-to-back 1 goal, 1 assist efforts in two convincing wins over the Pembina Valley Hawks and the Interlake Lightning this past weekend. She directed 5 shots on net in each game and bagged the game-winner in the 8-0 win over Interlake.
Carriere (St. Malo, MB) is in her third season with the Selects and is a 5-year member of the Selects AAA program. Carriere, known for her heavy shot, has gotten off to a strong start this season and has taken a big leap in terms of her offensive play. In 22 games played, Carriere has posted 6 goals and 14 helpers to go along with 81 shots on goal and a team-leading +32 rating. In MFHL scoring, Carriere is currently tied with teammate Blake Haas and Claire Hudson (Winnipeg Ice) for first in D scoring and tied for 5th in overall league scoring.

RIGAUX NAMED WEEK 2 MFHL FORWARD OF THE WEEK

The Eastman Selects are proud to announce that second year forward Delainey Rigaux ('26) has been selected as the MFHL Week 2 Forward of the Week. Rigaux had a big weekend collecting 6 points in team wins over the Interlake Lightning and the Central Plains Capitals. She started the weekend off with a 1G, 1A effort in a 6-0 win against Interlake, and followed it up with a 4-goal performance (and the GWG) in a 6-1 victory over Central Plains. Rigaux has caught fire and scored in six straight games while bagging a point in 8 of her last 10 games.
Rigaux (Winnipeg, MB) is in her second season with the Selects after playing her Grade 10 season with the Interlake Lightning. Rigaux is a dual threat and possesses good vision and has a knack for finding an open player; but she's always had the ability to score and has shown that she's especially dangerous when she gets the puck on her stick in a scoring area. After a bit of a slow start Rigaux has now accumulated 11 goals to go along with 4 assists in 13 games. In addition she's fired 60 shots on goal to go along with a +11 rating.

RIGAUX AND TOMES CRACK U18 TEAM MANITOBA FINAL ROSTER

The Eastman Selects are proud to announce that defender Vayda Rigaux (Winnipeg, MB) and netminder Addison Tomes (Winnipeg, MB) have both been selected for this year's U18 POE Team Manitoba final roster. This will be Rigaux's first time being selected while Tomes returns for a second stint with Team Manitoba after making last year's squad.
U18 Team Manitoba’s roster will compete at the 2025 National Women’s U18 Championship which is scheduled to take place in Mount Pearl and Conception Bay South, Newfoundland and Labrador, from November 2-8, 2025. U18 Team Manitoba’s roster consists of twelve (12) forwards, six (6) defenders, and two (2) goaltenders. To see the Hockey Manitoba announcement and full team roster click here:
The Hockey Manitoba Women’s U18 Program of Excellence is designed to provide high performance female players with the opportunity to develop advanced skills as well as an introduction to the concepts needed to play at an elite level. Many players from the Program of Excellence go on to play at the U Sport, NCAA and International level.

HAAS EARNS WEEK 1 MFHL AWARD

The Eastman Selects are proud to announce that second year defender Blake Haas ('27) has been selected as the MFHL Week 1 Defence of the Week. Haas kicked off the 2025 - 26 campaign with two power play assists and helped propel the Selects to a 4-1 win over the Westman Wildcats in ther home and season opener this past Saturday.
Haas (Lorette West, MB) is known for her smooth skating and her ability to move the puck and generate offensively. Haas continues to get stronger defensively and is adding increased physical play to her play. In the young season Haas has posted 7 helpers in 11 games while directing 25 shots on goal to go along with a +5 rating.

The Selects will hit the ice for several practices in late summer as the prepare for the Stoney Creek U18 AA Showcase in Stoney Creek, ON on the September 5 - 7 weekend. The regular season for the team kicks off in early October where the Selects will be looking to follow-up this past season's success with a strong season start.

Eastman Minor Hockey is excited to announce that registration is now open for the 2025 – 26 season for the Eastman Selects U18 AAA program. Following is some information about the program along with tryout dates and times.
About the U18 Program:
The program will once again be based out of Niverville with practices held twice per week and complemented by an in-season strength and conditioning program. After spending the previous three (3) seasons with the U15 Female Selects AAA program, Trevor Hildebrand is excited to return to the Head Coach position for the U18 program. Joining him on the bench will be assistant coaches Ray Carriere, Stephanie Jones, along with the return of Jason Remillard. Roger Storoschuk will also remain with the program as the team’s goaltending coach.
The U18 AAA program is designed for players that aspire to play hockey at a competitive level and offers them with a challenging and rewarding experience. Players will have the opportunity to continue their development and enhance their skillset in a high performance environment while competing against the top teams and players in the province.
The team plays in the Manitoba Female Hockey League (MFHL) which is a 9-team league consisting of a 32-game regular season plus playoffs. In addition to league play, the team participates in other showcase events and for the upcoming season is scheduled to compete in the Stoney Creek U18 Showcase (Stoney Creek, ON), Central Plains Pre-Season Showcase (Portage la Prairie, MB) and the NIT Invitational (Blaine, MN). These additional tournament showcases enable the team and its players to gain exposure to college and university coaches while also competing against other high-profile teams from Canada and the United States.

Following are the dates and times for our spring tryouts – note that all sessions will be held at East End Arena (517 Pandora Ave East, Winnipeg, MB):

Saturday, May 31st:

- 11:15 AM – 12:15 PM Group 2 Tactics, SAG/Scrimmage

Sunday, June 1st:
