- Games will be played under Hockey Canada/Hockey Manitoba Rules.
- Teams must be prepared to play 15 minutes prior to scheduled start time
- Games will be 3-20 minute stop time periods. Ice will be resurfaced after 2
periods as time permits.
- The third period will be shortened to 15 minutes if needed.
- Every effort will be made to provide teams with a 4 minute warm-up period;
however, teams must be ready to take the ice as soon as the preceding
game and/or ice resurfacing is finished.
- Mandatory equipment for all Canadian and USA teams includes: helmets,
mouth guards, throat guards and full face protectors. Any player not
following these rules will not be allowed to play until corrected.
- Pucks will be provided by tournament host team
- No protests will be permitted regarding rules interpretations or judgement
calls made by referees. Only protests related to game rules that can be
addressed in the Hockey Canada Rule Book and/or regarding player
eligibility will be heard by tournament officials.
- Pool standings are determined by points. In the event of a tie, standings will
be based on the following:
Head to Head record
Goal differential for all games played (goals for minus goals
against)
Coin flip
- There will be no mercy rules.
- First team listed will be the home team and will wear their light coloured
jerseys.
- Regular icing rules will apply. The no touch rule will be in effect.
- Each team will be allowed a 30 second time out per game.
- Games ending in a tie will remain as such unless it is in the final game. At
that time the following format will be used:
- Five minutes of four on four
- Shootout will be a five man format and repeated till a winner is determined.
Points system for games is as follows:
- 2 points for a game win
- 1 point for a game tie
- 0 points for a game loss
- 1 point for winning the period
- ½ point for tieing the period
- 0 points for losing the period
