Eastman 2010-11 Season Begins

Posted by sc

The 2010-11 hockey season begins in earnest with the opening of the Eastman Female Midget AA Selects Selection Camp in just 3 days.  This year's camp will be held Tuesday August 31, Wednesday, September 1 & will wind up Thursday, September 2 with all sessions held from 5:45-6:45 PM at the East End Arena 517 Pandora Ave. E in Winnipeg.  Registrations are still being accepted online.
A parent meeting will be held following the tryout session on Tuesday evening from 6:45-7:15 PM. This will provide parents with an overview of the program and an opportunity to ask questions.
Players should arrive at the arena at least 45 minutes ahead of the first tryout time so that their registration can be finalized. Players should bring a white and a dark (black) jersey. Registration fees must be paid prior to the player starting the on-ice session on Tuesday.  Following their final session on Thursday, all players will be spoken to individually. Please ensure you do not leave the arena prior to speaking with the coaching staff. After selections are finished coach Bill Bram would like to have a short meeting with the parents of the selected players.
Good luck to all the participants; we look forward to the start of another exciting and busy season!

Eastman adds a new member to its coaching staff

Posted by dk

After last year’s success with the Female Bantam AA Selects, Brad Toews has joined the Female Midget AA Selects as their newly appointed Team Trainer. Brad has been involved in hockey since 1999 when he first took up coaching in Winnipeg. During that time, Brad attended the University of Winnipeg where he became familiar with training protocols, nutritional requirements, and prevention and care of injuries of an athlete. After a few years of minor hockey, Brad went on to coach a year of high school hockey before moving to Steinbach. Once settled in Steinbach, Brad took up female hockey and hasn’t looked back since. After winning a Provincial Championship with Steinbach, Brad repeated the success with a Provincial Championship coaching last year’s Female Bantam AA Selects. Brad looks forward to the opportunity to help the team achieve success and provide the players with the tools required to become more efficient athletes.
